Bible Verses for Anxiety: Casting Every Care on Him
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 4:6–7 (NIV)

Anxiety rarely arrives with a warning. It comes at two in the morning with a list of what-ifs — the bills, the results, the family member who has not replied. If that is where you are tonight, you are not alone, and you are not failing at faith.

Paul did not write "Do not be anxious about anything" from a place of ease. He wrote it from prison. And notice what he offers in place of worry: not a forced calm, but prayer. Every situation, named honestly before God, with thanksgiving for what He has already done.

Peter says it even more simply: "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." Not some of it. All of it — the big fears and the small, embarrassing ones too.

The psalmist knew this ache as well: "When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy." Consolation does not always remove the storm at once. Often it is the quiet knowledge that you are held in the middle of it.

God often gives His peace through people. If your worry has grown heavy or will not lift, it is good and wise to talk with someone you trust — a friend, a pastor or priest, a counselor or doctor. Asking for help is not a lack of faith.

Tonight, write down what is weighing on you, then write Philippians 4:6–7 beneath it. Let the verse have the last word on the page.
